<title>Web Site Upgrade</title>
<link>http://www.horseandponycentre.org/Article102.html</link>
<description>In the near future, the Horse and Pony Centre Web Site will be upgraded and given a fresh face. This will involve the Site being unavailable for a few days. The old engine driving the Site is very long in the tooth now, and it is time to use a more up to date version. Unfortunately, this is not an easy 'push button' upgrade, and will require quite a lot of work, but hopefully, it will only be offline for a day or two.

It might also be a very opportune time to pop in any requests you might have for features or services that the Site can provide. We are always on the look out for useful ideas. Pop them to admi&#110;&#064;&#104;orseandponycentre.org</description>

<title>Irish Horse Overpopulation Meeting</title>
<link>http://www.horseandponycentre.org/Article87.html</link>
<description>There has been a meeting in Ireland of officials to discuss the fears that this winter will see many horses suffering due to the horse overpopulation.

The meeting was between Horse Sport Ireland Chairman, Joe Walsh, and the Minister for Agriculture, Brendan Smith, Irish Horse Welfare Trust’s, Jessica Harrington, Sharon Newsome and Jane Myercough and Barbara Bent representing the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Joe Walsh stated that the large number of horses in Ireland, coupled with the economic downturn could result in problems as winter approaches. He went on to say one of the challenges when dealing with horse issues was that there were so many agencies involved and responsible for implementing the Control of Horses Act and the police being responsible for matters of welfare.
