writes "There is a new Section in "The Horse Directory", see link above which gives websites which will help those who have their horse stolen or wish to trace previous owners of their horse.
This includes the UK National Equine Database which has information on every horse which has been issued with a UK passport including a lost, stolen & missing horse register. Horse owners from other EU countries can register their horse or pony on this site for £5.00." |

The 2009 Irish Show Jumpers Club’s Awards

writes "Cameron Hanley was awarded Irelands Show Jumper of the Year Award 2009. Cameron recorded a number of wins and top ten places this year throughout Europe and finished fourth at the European Show Jumping Championships at Windsor last August, in addition to representing Ireland in various Nations Cup Team events.

Irish Horse Overpopulation Meeting

writes "There has been a meeting in Ireland of officials to discuss the fears that this winter will see many horses suffering due to the horse overpopulation.
The meeting was between Horse Sport Ireland Chairman, Joe Walsh, and the Minister for Agriculture, Brendan Smith, Irish Horse Welfare Trust’s, Jessica Harrington, Sharon Newsome and Jane Myercough and Barbara Bent representing the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Joe Walsh stated that the large number of horses in Ireland, coupled with the economic downturn could result in problems as winter approaches. He went on to say one of the challenges when dealing with horse issues was that there were so many agencies involved and responsible for implementing the Control of Horses Act and the police being responsible for matters of welfare.

There has been nothing fair about the way the FEI has treated me." following the FEI tribunal decision to impose a £1,776 fine for what they described as a “minor technical violation” of the rules at this year’s Dublin Horse Show.
